Y. Patton graces STCC Jubilee

Y. Patton, deputy chief minister of Nagaland, has urged the people to abstain from indulging in and using intoxicating substances as, he said, it brings more problems and chaos into the present society.

According to a press release by the deputy CM’s media cell, Patton said this while addressing the 25th Silver Jubilee Celebrations of St. Thomas Catholic Church (STCC) Doyang under Wokha district as special guest on January 6.

Patton pointed out that 25 years was a long time and he considered jubilee a blessing that requires praise and thanks giving to almighty God for His grace. He added that a jubilee was also a time to receive and seek blessings from God. Patton hoped that this celebration would bring plentiful blessings to the St. Thomas Catholic Church in particular and people of Doyang as a whole. Patton also exhorted the student community to not be complacent with their studies but inculcate in themselves a work culture and concentrate more on their duties with full dedication in order to excel in life.

Expressing admiration for the locality, Patton said that Doyang was a significant place in Nagaland with its hydro electric project and scenic beauty.

Earlier, Most Rev. Dr. James Thoppil, Bishop of Kohima, dedicated the jubilee monolith at St. Thomas Catholic Church Doyang, which was also unveiled by the deputy chief minister.
