Deputy chief minister and Home minister, Y Patton has expressed deep shock and sadness on learning of the demise of Yantsomo Odyuo, ex-member, Nagaland Public Service Commission (NPSC), on November 18, in Kohima.
The deputy CM’s media cell, in a condolence note stated that late Y. Odyuo did his Masters in Arts from Mumbai University in 1962 and was the first MA degree holder among the Lothas. He served as general secretary, Nagaland Nationalist Organization (NNO) from 1969-1979, and served in various educational institutions.
He was appointed as member of the NPSC and served from December 1986-1992. Till his demise, he was a member of the Nagaland Senior Citizens Forum (NSCF) and governing body of Nagaland Peace Centre, Kohima.
“As I know him he was a simple, sincere and humble public servant and above all a cheerful human being” stated Patton.
Patton, along with his family, conveyed heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family and prayed for the departed soul to rest in eternal peace.
In another condolence note, the deputy chief minister has expressed anguish on learning of the demise of Pvukhomo Shitiri of Tsungiki village, father of Chanchibemo Shitiri, press secretary to deputy chief minister, who breathed his last at Naga Hospital Kohima on November 18.
Patton, while offering his condolences to Chanchibemo and his family, prayed that the Almighty give them strength and comfort during this time of sorrow. He also conveyed prayers for the departed soul to rest in peace.
