Yimchunger Akherü Arih-ako (YAA) has observed its golden jubilee on January 10 on the theme “Launching out programme” at Pungro town.
Akiuba, president YAA, in his address, has lauded the federating units and various individuals for the success of Zhimkiur Village Students’ Union golden jubilee cum YAA 49th federal assembly held at Zhimkiur village from January 7 -9. He reiterated that YAA should stand firm and shoulder the responsibilities placed upon it by the community. While lamenting on the present imbroglio, he has called upon all the leaders and intellectuals to work out modality for an amicable solution.
The president, while acknowledging the efforts of the golden jubilee planning committee, appealed to all the Yimchungers to extend co-operation and support towards the committee. He also spoke on the relevance of the golden jubilee theme “Honouring the past, charting the future,” where he urged the gathering to uphold the legacy of the pioneers. He has thanked all the people who have devoted tirelessly in its formation and in moulding the future of Yimchungers.
Thsesong, president of Yimchunger Tribal Council (YTC), in his speech, has exhorted the students to pursue their studies with dedication and hard work. He has advised the people to invest in education as it alone could bring about positive change in the society. He has further appealed them to maintain a congenial atmosphere for all round development. All the Yimchunger frontal organisations, former YAA officials and pioneers attended the programme.
