YBC Tuensang town celebrates 50 years

Yimchunger Baptist Church (YBC) Tuensang Town Boru celebrated its golden jubilee from March 20-21 under the theme, “proclaim the year of the Lord”.

A press release by YBC jubilee team informed that speakers of the jubilee were Yimchunger Baptist Boru Amukhungdo (YBBA), executive secretary, Dr. S J Akhum, YBBA youth secretary, Lakiumong and YBBA, women secretary, Dr Toshila.
The jubilee celebration commenced with dedicatory and unveiling of jubilee monolith by Dr SJ Akhum followed by blowing of “obituary trumpet” by 3rdNAP Jawans, “honour prayer” by YBC Tuensang Pastor, Rev P Akhum and unveiling of jubilee souvenir by jubilee history convenor, Y K Yimchunger.
In his message, Dr SJ Akhum deliberated on the jubilee theme taking references from the Old Testament and New Testament of the Bible. He stressed on the importance of forgiveness, to break barriers of all social evil and on transformation with better perspectives.
Speaker Lakiumong spoke on the topic, “remember His wonderful deeds” while valedictory session speaker, Dr. Toshila spoke on the topic, “matured in Christ”.
Guest speaker, Toyang Changkong Chang, MLA and chairman Tuensang DPDB congratulated the church on completion of 50 years. Deputy Commissioner (DC) Tuensang, Kumar Ramnikant also thanked the church for being the “torchbearers” of the society.
