Yemhi Memorial College (YMC), Dimapur organised cultural and literary day programme on November 26 at the college premises.
Exhorting the students Yemhi Memorial College principal Makhan Chetia, stressed on the meaning and importance of culture and encouraged them to acquire good culture saying it regulates human conduct.
“Our culture must be built on such pillars which can bring total refinements in our human beings in the quality of head and heart in mind,” he said.
Various literary competition events included quiz, essay, debate, singing and extempore speech. Prizes and certificates were awarded to the winners. Other highlights of the programme included traditional attire showcase, Ao folk song and folk dance.
Yemhi Memorial College student union president Kivinoto Aye delivered the welcome speech, vice president Toto delivered vote of thanks and benediction was rendered by Ilungdibe.
