YNACFHR denounces exclusion of NFHRCC from consultative meet

Young Nagas Action Committee for Foothills Road (YNACFHR) has expressed dismay over the recent decision of the state government to exclude Nagaland Foothills Road Coordination Committee (NFHRCC) from the consultative meeting scheduled on April 30 to discuss the foothills road project.

Asserting that NFHRCC had been the sole and consistent body overseeing and championing the foothills road initiative since its inception for more than a decade, the youth body pointed out that the committee had worked tirelessly to coordinate efforts, mobilise public support, and ensure that the vital infrastructure project was not lost in bureaucratic inertia or political neglect.

YNACFHR said it was deeply unfortunate and unacceptable that NFHRCC was not invited for the meeting directly concerning a project they had steered for years.

The youth body said it not only undermined the invaluable contributions and sacrifices but also raised serious questions about the government’s sincerity and transparency in handling the foothills road issue.

YNACFHR urged the government to acknowledge the pivotal role played by NFHRCC and rectify the oversight without delay, stressing that constructive dialogue and genuine inclusivity were essential to ensure real progress.

Declaring that it stood in solidarity with NFHRCC, the youth body called upon all to raise their voice in support of accountability and justice in the pursuit of infrastructure development.
