Yohotsomi Khel B Kezoma observe foundation day

The Yohotsomi Khel B Kezoma observed the Foundation Day under the motto, “Kezekevi-e kelhou rütso” on December 20 at Kezoma village.
1st class contractor, Keduo-o Zumvü who graced as guest shared that the attendance was to build friendships among communities that are divided into villages and regions. He called upon the villagers to be bonded in different associations both in times of prosperity and adversity. While citing the past instance that Nagaland was administered as Naga Hills district under Assam and later given statehood and at present, he said that the number of districts has been increased to 16 under the leadership of the present Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio which he said all these were to bring development and encourage representation of the unrepresented.
The speaker also called for electing the right leader who will think of the welfare and benefit the public in the upcoming general elections which maybe declared soon.
Angami Public Organization (APO) vice president (Judicial), Zadeho Rikha while observing the division and disunity in the society, encouraged the people to remain united.
Rikha called upon the younger generation to uphold and practice age old traditions and practices despite receiving modern education and adapting to modern ways of life.
Mezangol Yongo spoke about the inception and foundation of the khel and said the khel earlier comprised 50% of the village population of Kezoma village which had 6 clans. However, he disclosed that for better administration and equal distribution of development and benefits for all the villagers, the khel was further categorised into two khels. The khels have a Goanbura of their own along with council members, he added. Earlier, the programme was led by Pudezo Yongo and traditional songs were also presented during the programme.
