Youth Resources and Sports advisor, Er. Zale Neikha, on Friday said that youth are the force, hope and leaders of tomorrow “as they are the face of our community, society and country at large.”
“The fate of a nation depends on the youth today. Grooming and shaping youth with innovative and competitive spirits that will (take) the society to greater heights,” Er. Zale said. He was addressing the 54th Youth Day of Rachii Youth Organization (RYO) at Viswema village under Kohima district.
He said the leaders of any organization, be they be of the Panchayat, youth, students, women, etc. should try to build and uplift one another from the grass root to higher levels.
“We should not only concentrate on our own khel or village only but look beyond to the state and national level,” Er. Zale said.
Touching on dignity of labour, he said “There are many highly qualified youth in our society helped by their parents with an intention that one day their children will become (something) and make them proud. Those youth should not only wait for government jobs but utilise the knowledge they gain to be productive and not become an issue for their parents.”
There are many ways through which people can earn for themselves to provide for their own livelihoods, he said.
Er. Zale added that God had made Nagaland beautiful, with much potential where whatever is cultivated grows very well.
“Youth can take up cultivation as their profession as we have lots of wastelands that can be cultivated with any seasonal vegetables throughout the year. We can build a proper marketing shed so that the customers in and around town can come and purchase products in bulk” he stated.
Innovate in marketing and business (small scale industries) Er. Zale said, adding that some youth were flourishing greatly who should encourage upcoming entrepreneurs.
He lamented that youth of today were lagging behind in the quality of respecting elders.
“We should always try to be passionate in listening to them. To preserve our culture at any point of time, grab things they want to tell us eagerly,” he said.
Asking the people to respect and take care of public property, Er. Zale stated that “public property means the Locality, Government or other property that are not owned by any individual. They should be respected and protected for our future generations.”
