Underscoring the importance of being skilful, Müthingnyüba, MLA, has asked youths to be skilled so that they could avail enhanced job placements.
He was speaking at Sangtamtilla Village Students Union (SVSU) 25th anniversary held under the theme, “Jaatsiba Axangcheh Lümlong” (enhancing skill and knowledge) Friday at Sangtam Baptist Lithro.
The guest of honour said in today’s competitive world one need to remain up to date and be skilled so as to fit into the job market.
“Every year, thousands of students graduate; in the present scenario unemployment has been acute,” said Müthingnyüba.
Deliberating on the advancement of technology, Müthingnyüba said one need to learn to adjust with the change of time but at the same time understand its advantages as well as disadvantages.
The MLA also congratulated SVSU for accomplishing 25 years and encouraged the union to introspect and retrospect and have a vision to move forward for a better tomorrow.
Short speeches were also delivered by Sangtam People Forum Dimapur District (SPFDD) president, Pitong and Dimapur Kohima Sangtam Students Union (DKSSU) president, Samuel.
At the programme, invocation was said by Ao Baptist Church youth director, Nekenchiba Lkr, welcome address was delivered by planning committee convenor Bendangangshi, special numbers were presented by the students and Adhoka Mülong and benediction by Chang Baptist fellowship Sangtamtilla, Pastor S Akhang. The formal programme was followed by entertainment session.
