Youth awareness rally in Mokokchung

DIMAPUR: In observance of World No Drug Day 2026, a massive youth awareness rally and wellness programme will be held in Mokokchung on June 30. The event is being organized by the Rajyoga Education & Research Foundation (RERF), a sister organization of the Brahma Kumaris, in collaboration with 12 Assam Rifles, Mokokchung under the theme, “Drug Abuse Prevention & Value-based Living.”
According to DIPR report, the programme will commence at 10 am at the Assam Rifles Ground, Mokokchung. Ajit Kumar Verma, Deputy Commissioner of Mokokchung, will grace the occasion as the chief guest while Dr. Swapan Gupta, a renowned senior neurologist and narcotics specialist from New Delhi, will be the guest speaker.
Following the introductory session, the awareness rally will be officially flagged off from the Assam Rifles Ground. Participants will march through the heart of the town, and culminate at the Police Point near the Ao Baptist Church Mokokchung. The rally aims to send a strong message against substance abuse while promoting healthy, value-based lifestyles among local citizens.
The organizers have extended a cordial invitation to the general public, including students, youth organizations, and members of the press, to attend the programme and support this vital community health initiative.
