Youth dies in gang-fight; 9 arrested: Kma police

Kohima police have arrested at least nine persons in connection with alleged killing of a youth in a gang fight at box-cutting area in Kohima on September 23.
SDPO Kohima & PRO Atu Zumvu in a press release informed that the youth identified as one Medosetuo Suohu (21) son of Kevise Suohu, a resident of Naga Hospital colony, succumbed to his injuries at Naga Hospital Kohima after receiving serious head injuries in a gang fight following “misunderstanding” between two groups.
PRO further informed that the arrested persons were identified as—“Vidusato Rhutsu (18) son of Neidituo Rhutsu from village Mima under Khuzama police station; Kevizoto (19) son of Vithahol from Kidima village under Khuzama police station; David Kape (19) son of late Loli Kepe from Chowainu Village under Mao police station in Manipur and a resident of PWD colony Kohima; Khuveto (18) son of late Zekevi from Suthotsu village under Phek police station and a resident of PWD colony Kohima; Meyato Rhuno (20) son of Neipiesa Rhuno from Mima village under Khuzama police station and a resident of Upper Chandmari, Kohima; Vilabeizo Theünuo (20) son of Bao from Chiechama village under Chiephobozou police station; Sourav Dorjee (18) son of Indra Dorjee from Pudwal in Nepal and a resident of Chandmari colony, Kohima; Temsusanen Jamir (18) son of  Taliyanger Jamir from Chuchuyimlang village under Changtongya police station and Setongba Sangtam (19) son of Yanchokhyu from Hurong under Kiphire police station and a resident of Lower Chandmari in Kohima.”
Upon receiving information about the fight, PRO said a police team from South PS upon rushed to spot. However, when they reached the spot, the two groups had already dispersed, PRO said. 
It was revealed that one of the injured was shifted to Naga Hospital in a critical condition. By the time police team reached the hospital, the victim had already succumbed to his injuries, PRO said. 
The body was later brought to police station and was sent for post mortem.
Further investigation also revealed that the cause of the fight began after five members had some misunderstandings with two boys who were also at the park above box-cutting, PRO said. Thereafter, two boys had called up seven other friends to come to the spot. This led to a fight between two groups in which one of the five member group received serious injuries on his head and later succumbed to injuries, PRO informed. A case was registered following an FIR lodged by the paternal uncle of the slain youth at South PS Kohima. The nine accused were arrested on September 23 and 24 and was produced before the court of chief judicial magistrate Kohima on Thursday. They were further remanded to judicial custody as further investigation was on, PRO stated.
KVYO condemns
Kohima Village Youth Organisation (KVYO) in a press release issued by its president Ketounei Kire, strongly condemned the murder of Medosetuo Suohu, son of Kevise Suohu of Kohima Village on September 23, at Box-cutting area, Kohima, allegedly by nine youths.
KVYO appealed to the competent authority to fully investigate the circumstances leading to the murder and deliver justice as per law. KYYO also demanded that stringent punishment be awarded to those involved in the crime.
