A youth empowerment workshop for ‘higher opportunities in cities and awareness program against cases of human trafficking and various scams’ was organized by Pragtisheel vision foundation in collaboration with NEC, at Ura Academy Hall, Mission Compound, Kohima on Thursday.
One of the resource persons, former student leader and young entrepreneur, Timothy Chongthu spoke about various colleges, subjects and universities available in Delhi city. He explained in detail various subjects offered by universities, eligibility criteria, admission season and other relevant details.
Nagaland representative to the Delhi Chief Minister’s Northeast Committee, and public relations professional, Chumbemo M. Patton spoke on “The issues of scams and human trafficking faced by the North East population in the cities”.
Former executive member of Helping Hands NGO and social worker, Wangring Rangang spoke on “Career oriented profession” and shared details of various colleges in Delhi. He also shared guidelines for the students to get into good colleges and how to be successful in their careers. He encouraged the student community to work hard and score good marks which, he said, was essential to get into reputed colleges in the cities.
Treasurer of Pragtisheel Vision Foundation and socio-political activist, Linda Newmai spoke on “Understanding the city dynamics and sharing of lived experience” and she also touched on other subjects. An interactive and Q&A session was also conducted later. The program was attended by students of various schools and colleges of Kohima.
