YouthNet, YRS deptt organise ‘LaunchPad Education’ in Chümou

YouthNet and the department of Youth Resources and Sports (YRS) organised “LaunchPad Education and Career Fair 2023” at Tetso College, Sovima on Saturday.
Addressing the gathering as guest of honour, advisor, industries and commerce, Hekani Jakhalu said Nagaland could prosper and progress only through local economy and urged the youth to take charge of the state’s economy by exploring various opportunities.
Expressing concern over the unemployment problem in Nagaland, she encouraged youths to have the desire to be skilled, learn new techniques and be open for any employment opportunities.
Inspiring the students with her journey, Hekani said with commitment, efforts and hard work, she has become what she is today. She then said there was no other options but to work hard in order to become successful.
Delivering a short speech, YRO, YRS, Chubarenla Longchari said in Nagaland the general population considers government jobs as the only viable form of employment, which she said limits one’s vision and cancels out other important factors such as one’s aptitude, talent, skills and inspirations.
She said the unemployment problem could be eased to a large extent if the younger generation plan their education and career choices by not limiting themselves but exploring option as per their talents and capabilities.
During the programme, YouthNet director, Nuneseno Chase gave an overview of the LaunchPad; alumni speeches were delivered by Rosy Konyak, Ayimwati and Tsarobi Sangtam; one smartphone each was handed over to Phuyeka of Government Higher Secondary School (GHSS) Aghunato and Seneh of GHSS Jalukie while Gopal Das of GHSS Mayangnokcha and Ngamlem of Mon GHSS were given a laptop each as “LaunchPad Awards”; invocation was offered by Women Pastor, Chekiye Village Baptist Church, Dr. Kanili Aye, while welcome note and closing remarks was delivered by Ravolü Chüzho.
