Youths must be the image of Nagas: Imchen

Principal secretary and commissioner of Nagaland for Border Affairs, Justice and Law, Sentiyanger Imchen IAS urged the Naga selected candidates of Indian army to be the image of Nagas wherever they should go during the felicitation programme of Naga youths in joining Indian army as the chief guest organized by 9th Assam Rifles held at headquarter 5 sector Assam Rifles Tsiesema on Thursday.
Imchen termed the selected Naga youths as “lucky” wherein the state was facing unemployment problem for thousands. He congratulated the selected youths and told the candidates about facilities they would enjoy as they entered Indian army. 
He also reminded the tough training courses ahead and the need to maintain strict discipline. Commissioner advised the Naga youth to know how to live together and adjust with different types of people from across the country during training and after.
Imchen also encouraged the youths to motivate other friends in their respective area to join India army when they went home. He appreciated the organizers for organizing grand felicitation programme and also urged the Indian army to recruit more Naga youths in the days to come.
Altogether 23 Naga youths were selected in the army recruitment rally held in the month of April to June 2016 and they would send to training in the month of September to different parts of training centre in India. The selected candidates include Peren district -2, Phek- 9, Kohima- 4, Dimapur- 3, Wokha- 3, Tuensang – 2. 19 candidates were present during the felicitation programme.
Army officer informed that altogether 178 candidates applied online for army recruitment, 56 candidates’ qualified physical and medical test and only 23 candidates passed in written test.
The programme was attended by col. Rajat Tyagi commandant 9 AR, Brig MS Bains SC YSM, SM, DIG 5sector AR, others AR officers, village council members and others.
