Yimkhiung Students’ Union Dimapur (YSUD) organized ‘Freshers’-cum Cultural Day’ and ‘Talent Night’ under the theme, “Finding Identity in Cultural Integrity” at Holy Cross School auditorium on September 9 with advisor Youth Resources and Sports, S. Keoshu Yimchunger, as the chief guest.
In his speech, S. Keoshu Yimchunger highlighted on the increasing number of educated unemployed youths in the state, and said that focus should be on promoting young talents in extra-curricular activities.
The event saw participants showcasing their talents in different fields. Famous Naga artistes Sunep Lemtur and K L Pamei enthralled the audience with their special presentation. The winners of talent night were Tsulun and Yinla (first place), Tsurikhumla (second place) and Teen Sisters (third place) respectively.
The event was graced by advisor Fire and Emergency Service, Home Guard and Civil Defence, S. Kiusumew, officials of YAA, YUD, YLAD, YBCD, DENSU, WYSU and other federating units under DENSU and WYSU.
In his speech, S. Kiusumew through his life events emphasized the importance of embracing new opportunities and making the most of time as a student. Yakso R and Kumyinthula were adjudged Mr. And Miss. Fresher YSUD 2023.
Welcome address was delivered by president YSUD, H. Akhumba, speeches were delivered by president YAA, Keyoungkhum, and president YUD, Biremong.
