Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangatham (NYKS), ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, government of India, in collaboration with the district administration, Mokokchung hosted “Yuva Utsav” (Youth Festival) under the theme, “Panch Pran of Amrit Kaal” at Town Hall, Mokokchung, Wednesday.
According to a DIPR report, speaking on the occasion as guest speaker, Deputy Commissioner (DC) Mokokchung, Thsuvisie Phoji said such programmes were organised to install patriotic feelings in the minds of the youths as they were the future of the nation.
He called upon the youths to take the opportunity to showcase their talents, and take courage and utilize such platform to develop their talents.
Delivering keynote address, district youth officer NYK, Mokokchung, S.T. Haokip maintained that, India as a young nation, its strength lies in the youths as such the government objective was to harness the potentials of the youth in nation building.
The programme was chaired by Sentirenla Ozukum of NYV and vote of thanks was delivered by Imtijungla of NYV. Earlier in the day programme, various competitions on painting, poetry, photography, cultural presentation and declamation contest were held.
