Reacting to the news published in the local dailies on January 21 “FGN Tatar Hoho Speaker reacts”, FGN killo kilonser Zaleo said that Künüchosa Rhakho, had been expelled as speaker of NNC/FGN for allegedly conducting an unconstitutional meeting and “committed coup” at K. Basa village on September 23, 2023 to destabilize the nation.
In a statement, Zaleo said that it was amusing to note the belated reaction from Rhakho on January 20, 2024 over his (Zaleo) “personal call to our people for repentance to enable national unity” which was published on December 13, 2023. Zaleo also expressed surprise as to how his appeal invited such a reaction of derision from Rhakho.
However, Zaleo said his ambiguous reaction lacked clarity of purpose since it cannot be established as to whether it was an attempt of character assassination and personal malice or an accusation of national political institution (NNC) and its legitimate government (FGN).
Whatsoever, he said it was an undeniable fact that national responsibility, authority of office and leadership are universally governed by the will, convention and the law of the land under its constitution.
He opined that it would be unbecoming on his part to unnecessarily respond to Rhakho’s accusations word by word as it would have no relevance to the national interest.
However, Zaleo regretted to mention that the Rhakho’s reaction statement to his appeal had rather sadly exposed the true colors of the integrity of the writer.
Zaleo said Rhakho’s favorite word “dictatorial behavior” was earlier levelled against NNC president ‘gen.’ (Retd) T.M. Keyho in 2018 when some people defected from NNC/FGN to join hands with Naga National Political Groups “to accept a solution under the constitution of India by throwing away Naga sovereignty”, which has no meaning in Naga dictionary.
Despite all the shameful accusations by Rhakho, Zaleo said he was contented to inform the people that the Naga national government is functioning smoothly upholding the plebiscite of 1951 and defending the national sovereignty which is the ray of hope for our people.
Zaleo said he felt pity for Rhakho, not to mention of his grasp over the essence of his reaction statement, as he was gleefully dancing to the tune of the write up of which he is ignorant and gladly singing in innocent bliss. Zaleo wished that the Nagas must not form wrong opinions for every write up but discern issues meticulously to stand firm and be a true Naga in words and deeds.
