Zeliangrong Baudi Nagaland (ZBN) has appealed to different tribal hohos of Nagaland to come to the negotiating table and sort out the current imbroglio in true democratic sense. ZBN also appealed the stakeholders to respond to peaceful dialogue with due respect for each other.
ZBN in a press note by president Rangsam N. Hau and Meijiang Gonmei stated that initially “the JCC had demanded the government not to go ahead with ULB elections with 33 percent women reservation” but now the main issue “seemed to have got diverted with political overtones.” While stating that as Nagas, “we need to adopt the rich traditional practice of resolving any conflict without resorting to violence”, ZBN pointed out that the two sides should sit for dialogue and resolve the difference and bring back normalcy and peace in the state. ZBN also appreciated the government of Nagaland for conceding to the “probable demand of the people” keeping in mind the welfare and unity of the Naga family as utmost priority in such a crucial juncture. It also asked that that any decisions they took were in the best interests for the present and future generations of the Naga people.
