ZBN demands release of six Naga hostages

DIMAPUR: Zeliangrong Baudi Nagaland (ZBN) has strongly condemned the alleged abduction and continued detention of innocent Naga civilians belonging to the Liangmai community from Konsakhul (Konsaram) village in Kangpokpi district, Manipur.
In a press release, the organisation also condemned the abduction of two Catholic brothers from Sapormeina in Kangpokpi district, the ambush that reportedly killed three church leaders of the Thadao Baptist Association India (TBAI), and the killing of Wilson Thanga of the Chiru community.
ZBN further alleged that six Naga individuals continue to remain under unlawful detention by Kuki armed militants and demanded their unconditional and immediate release.
The organisation stated that the May 19 assertion made by Kuki Inpi Manipur claiming ignorance about the whereabouts of the six missing Nagas was “manifestly and unequivocally false.”
The Baudi also criticised statements made on social media and in an interview uploaded on the YouTube channel “ZONET TV” by Tony Singsit, president of the Kuki Students’ Organisation Nagaland, and son of L. Singsit (Retd. IPS) president of Kuki Inpi Nagaland (KIN) from Saijang in Peren district of Athibung Sub Division, Nagaland.
According to ZBN, the narrative shared in the interview was misleading and instigative, and could contribute to communal misunderstanding and tension, potentially leading to a spillover of the ongoing Manipur conflict into Nagaland.
