Zbto DPDB discuss I-Day celebration, COVID status

Zunheboto District Planning and Development Board (DPDB) Wednesday discussed the ensuring 75th Independence Day celebration and the COVID-19 pandemic status of the district among other issues.

According to a DIPR report, the meeting was held in the conference hall of deputy commissioner (DC) Zunheboto under the chairmanship of DC and vice-chairman DPDB, Peter Lichamo.  At the meeting, the members mainly focused on the forthcoming 75th Independence Day celebration at the district and other sub-divisions, in which DC reiterated the work distributions, to be carried up by different departments.

Deputy chief medical officer (CMO) Zunheboto Dr. Akaho Sema while presenting a detailed report on the current COVID situation of the district said department has intensified sample testing by installing 35 testing facilities across the district. 

He informed that out of a total of 3999 samples tested in the last nine days, 57 samples were positive which numbered at 1.4% which he said was at a “relatively safe zone”. 

Dr. Akaho said that the team aims to administer 1000 samples for testing in the coming 20 days.  

The board members were also informed that, so far 42855 doses of vaccination had been administered and the district also had a total of 13 villages which are totally vaccinated. Dr. Akaho said15% of eligible are yet to be vaccinated. 

The members also deliberated on other agendas including reconstitution of aspiration block. Earlier, the meeting began with the introduction of new board members and review of the previous DPDB meeting minutes.
