The ‘indefinite chakka bandh’ called by Zunheboto Chamber of Commerce and Industries (ZCCI) and Hill Area Truck Owner Association (HATOA) has been suspended till further notice.
Informing this in a press note, presidents of ZCCI and HATOA– Shikahoto Jakha and Akheto Shohe said that the decision was made after GREF clarified that the said road—Mokokchung to Zunheboto, was handed over to PWD (National Highway-II).
In a letter addressed to ZCCI, GREF officer commanding stated that the road Mokokchung to Zunheboto was handed over to the state government on February 27, 2016. In this regard, GREF has asked ZCCI to discuss the matter with the state PWD (NH). As per the documents made available, SDO-I PWD (NH-II), Mokokchung certified that the road stretch from 121.00 to km 193.420 of the Zunheboto-Mokokchung was handed over to PWD-NH division on February 27, 2016.
ZCCI and HATO however said that they may resume the bandh if they do not get any positive response from the concerned department.
They also urged National Highways (NH) division to look into the matter with all seriousness.
