DIMAPUR: Sunday School Department of Zeliangrong Baptist Church, Dimapur, conducted its Vacation Bible School (VBS) 2026 under the theme “Rainforest Falls” from July 14 to 18 at the church premises.
The culmination programme was held on the fifth day with an invocation by Wilungbo Chawang, Youth Pastor, followed by a special prayer offered by Dinggailung Panmei, pastor. The event was chaired by Aliangliu Newmai, Sunday School Teacher, while the exhortation was delivered by R. James Gonmei, Sunday School Superintendent, who encouraged children to remain rooted in God’s Word and grow spiritually in their daily lives.
This year’s VBS embraced the vibrant theme “Rainforest Falls,” symbolising growth, renewal and the abundance of God’s love.
Through Bible lessons, songs, games, crafts and interactive activities, children were encouraged to learn, love and grow in Christ.
A highlight of the programme was the observance of the “Five Special Days”-Welcome Day, Friendship Day, Giving Day, Worship Day and Traditional Day-each carrying unique biblical significance.
Special performances added colour to the event, featuring memory verse recitations and group presentations by pre schoolers, schoolers and teens. Prizes were distributed to recognise active participation and achievements during the sessions.
The Sunday School Department expressed gratitude to teachers, volunteers, the music and choreography team, kitchen committee, parents and well wishers for their support. Special appreciation was extended to the VBS Director, Secretary and committee members for their tireless efforts.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by Chingkhiuwang Nka, Assistant Pastor & VBS Director, followed by a singspiration led by the Music and Choreography Team and benediction pronounced by Phenwibo Meriam, Sunday School Advisor.
