Maintaining that youths from the Kuki community are blessed with myriad talents, advisor of Sericulture, Excise and Minority Affairs, Zhaleo Rio encouraged them to seize the opportunities, compete and excel in their respective fields.
A press release by NDPP 5 Ghaspani-II A/C media secretary informed that Zhaleo was speaking as the special guest of the last day of 30th general conference of Kuki Students’ Organisation Nagaland (KSON) at Sirhima Village, Friday.
Zhaleo advised the Kuki student community to be “stars among competitors”, for which he asked them to strive with determination as there was no substitute to hard work.
He stated that there was always the scope to perform better once commitment, discipline and dedication are prioritised towards a goal.
He also called upon them to put God first in all their endeavours while doing away with inferiority complex, negativity, shortcomings or lapses, etc.
Stating that the state government was giving “greater focus on meritocracy”, Zhaleo said Nagaland Staff Selection Board (NSSB) was introduced to garner quality results.
Clarifying his earlier statement that “elections will be held with or without a solution on Naga political imbroglio”, Zhaleo said, “if the concerned parties cannot find an acceptable solution before the due date of general election, the centre may definitely announce election processes to be conducted across the state. However, in case of a solution being reached on time, a stop gap arrangement or interim government may take care until official election can be conducted at a later date accordingly.”
The programme was also attended by guest of honour, Alun Hangsing.
