Zhaleo stresses loyalty to party principles

DIMAPUR

Advisor to Urban Development and Municipal Affairs, Zhaleo Rio, on Friday urged party workers of the Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party (NDPP) to remain steadfast in their loyalty and uphold the ideologies, programmes and policies of the party at all times.
He was addressing the party functionaries from Chümoukedima Region during the induction programme of office bearers for the tenure 2024–2027, held at CTC Hall, Chümoukedima.
Describing the occasion as a “Red Letter Day,” Zhaleo said the oath of loyalty taken by the newly inducted office bearers carries the responsibility to work for the welfare of the people and the progress of the State. He highlighted the party’s electoral growth since 2017, attributing its success to the leadership’s commitment to public welfare.
“The NDPP stands for the protection and preservation of Naga culture and traditions,” he said, while exhorting party workers not to join the party for personal gain but to contribute meaningfully to society.
Zhaleo also credited the quality of leadership within the NDPP for the formation of an opposition-less government in the State. He urged party functionaries to uphold the party’s slogan of striving towards a “State of Excellence” and to work in close coordination with elected representatives to realise the party’s vision.
Calling upon grassroots-level workers from village and constituency units to actively serve the public and the party, Zhaleo encouraged them to make effective use of government schemes such as the Chief Minister’s Health Scheme and Chief Minister’s Micro Finance Scheme under the leadership of Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio.
The programme was chaired by Shikato Swu, general secretary (designate), Chümoukedima Region, with an invocation prayer by Rev. Kevisikho Sokra, pastor, UBC Chümoukedima Town. The welcome address was delivered by Phushika Aomi, vice president (designate), CEB.
Installation and oath-taking of office bearers from Chümoukedima Region, including the Women’s and Youth Organizations of Ghaspani-I and II constituencies and the Minority Wing, was conducted by Charlie Sekhose, senior vice president, NDPP Nagaland and Convener of the State Election Committee.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by Razouvotuo Chatsu, advisor (designate), CEB, and a benediction by Moala Ao, deputy chairperson, Chümoukedima Town Council.
