ZKGBU condemns alleged assault

Zeliang-Luki Gaon Budha Union (ZKGBU), Ahthibung Sub-Division has condemned the alleged physical assault on an innocent villager in Khelma by Zeliangrong Region Cadres over a tax issue on May 23. 

According to ZKGBU chairman, Seijalam Hangsing, around four to five national workers of Zeliangrong region with their leader “2nd Leiutenent Nzuakam” went to Khelma village and brutally assaulted one person identified as Benjamin and left him unconscious in cemetery area. 
While condemning the assault, ZKGBU said such an act of “inhumanity” should be condemned by all people of the Kuki- Zeliang society and appealed to the Zeliangrong region authorities to refrain from such activities in future. 
Meanwhile, the union has appreciated the efforts of Ahthibung Assam Rifles and police for arresting the three assaulters – “2nd Leiutenent” Nzuakam son of Suilak of A block – Samzuiram village, “Sgt Maj” Daniel son of Tabui, Razou Peyu and Sitang son of Akhang of  A block Samzuiram village. 
The union has also urged the security forces to visit the area frequently so that peace environment could prevail.
