Zeliangrong Mipui Organization (ZMO), Peren, Nagaland has vehemently condemned the rape committed by Kiedai Doson on May 17 at Ngwalwa Village.
In a release, ZMO vice president Ngangia and secretary Zaisi termed the incident as a “very shameful” episode in “our” society when the entire nation was at a war footing in crime against women.
The women body stated that it was regretful to see a habitual offender get away “under disguise” of some unlegislated customary practises.
ZMO urged the law enforcers to be proactive in such heinous cases and at the same time issue a standing warrant against the accused by using all necessary force to deliver justice swiftly and sternly.
Meanwhile, ZMO in a general body meeting on May 22 at Peren town Women organization hall has elected a new team for the tenure starting from May 2015 to May 2018 (three years) to be headed by Apeuna as president, secretary-Lungsidaile and treasurer-Aswangla.
