Zeliang People’s Organisation (N), which claims to be the apex organisation of the indigenous Zeliang people of Peren district Nagaland, Tuesday clarified that the proposed formation of the “so called Zeliang Tribal Council (ZTC) on 21/2/2020 at Jalukie is not accepted by the people of Zeliang community.”
In a press release, ZPO president Ramdi Meru and general secretary Kiepeube Zehuny stated that the move has “apparent vested interest and political inclination which is divisive and adverse to peaceful and harmonious existence of the community.”
Therefore, ZPO stated that “whosoever is instrumental” in the formation of ZTC would be held solely accountable and answerable to the community.
ZPO declares: In a declaration, ZPO president Ramdi Meru and general secretary Kiepeube Zehuny stated that the Zeliang People’s Organisation (N), after thorough deliberation, had fully agreed to support the ongoing peace process between the NSCN/GPRN and the Government of India. They said that the house also further agreed upon to uphold Naga Integration without any condition.
