ZRSU ultimatum on TSPs/ISPs

Zunheboto Range Students’ Union (ZRSU) has served a 15-day ultimatum on the major telecom service providers (TSPs)/internet service providers (ISPs) to provide quality network and uninterrupted internet service.

In an ultimatum addressed to Bharti Airtel Limited, Reliance Jio Infocomm Limited, Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited and Vodafone Idea Limited, the ZRSU president Nito V Zhimomi and general secretary Vilikivi H Achumi cautioned that failure to provide stable network connectivity within the stipulated period would compel the union to initiate own course of actions.

ZRSU stated that Zunheboto district had been facing problems due to poor network coverage and slow internet connection.

It said that despite several complaints and appeals to provide quality network coverage and uninterrupted internet connectivity, the service providers have failed to take measures to address the issue. 

ZRSU said that its 7th executive meeting, which discussed the issue and expressed its strong resentment for not paying heed to the plight of students’ community and depriving the general populace of their paid services.

The union said the current COVID-19 pandemic has created a lot of challenges in education system, adding that e-learning was the only option.

ZRSU, however, stated that due to poor network coverage, the students were facing setback in their academic performance.
