ZSU opens new library for children, adolescents

Zhadima Students’ Union (ZSU) has inaugurated a new Children and Adolescent Library at the Zhadima Community Hall on May 31, 2025, coinciding with the annual felicitation programme for outstanding students in the HSLC and HSSLC examinations.
Former ZSU president Vitseizolie Sorünuo, who inaugurated the library and served as the keynote speaker, highlighted the importance of reading and lifelong learning. He encouraged the community to nurture a love for books among children and stressed that education is not just about academic success but about shaping character and values.
The library was dedicated by Rev. Thepfusalhou Khoubve, pastor of AG Church, Zhadima Bawe, who prayed for the success in serving future generations as a center for learning.
ZSU adviser Medolenuo Loucü provided an overview of the project, explaining that the library was built under the Special Assistance to States for Capital Investment (SASCI) 2023–24, a scheme from the Ministry of Finance, Government of India. The Art and Culture department of Nagaland implemented the project. She expressed gratitude to everyone who helped bring the vision to life, fulfilling ZSU’s dream of creating a dedicated learning space for young minds.
The event was chaired by ZSU women coordinator Menuolhounuo Sanchu, with ZSU president Mhasizolie Metsieo delivering the welcome address, and annual report by statistical secretary Petesenuo Sorünuo.
Sorünuo also congratulated students for their academic achievements, reminding them that success requires effort and dedication. He advised students to focus on their studies, uphold values, and stay committed to their goals.
Other speakers, including Neilalhoulie Soliezuo, chairman of ZVC, and Kekhrieseno Khoubve, who ranked 2nd in the 2024 NPSC CESE for Graduate Teacher (Science), shared inspiring messages, urging students to contribute positively to society.
The programme featured an invocation by Thejaselie Chüpuo, M.Div, a special song by Khriezovonuo Pfüsenuo, and a vote of thanks by Khriesavizo Sorünuo.
As part of its commitment to education, ZSU also honored students who excelled in the HSLC and HSSLC examinations and awarded the ZSU Presidential Scholarship to two deserving students.
