Zeliang Students’ Union Dimapur (ZSUD) organized felicitation program to honor the mertorious students who successfully cleared the HSLC and HSSLC examinations conducted by NBSE and CBSE, at conference hall hotel Saramati, Dimapur.
Addressing the gathering, special guest NBSE Secretary, Rangumbuing Nsarangbe, termed the day as a “monumental achievement” for the students, one they will cherish for life. He underlined the transformative power of education and the pivotal role of youth in shaping society. Nsarangbe acknowledged the indispensable role of parents, teachers, and mentors in the students’ success and advised students to choose careers that align with their interests, abilities, and market relevance.
Addressing a growing concern, he noted that many students opt for the science stream under pressure, only to shift courses later. “Parents must understand their children’s interests and allow them to follow their passion. Don’t impose your thoughts on them,” he said.
Highlighting the transformative National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, Nsarangbe noted that the policy advocates holistic development. “While academic excellence is vital, life skills are equally important,” he added.
Emphasizing the importance of resilience in today’s competitive and AI-driven world, guest speaker SDO (C) Dimapur, Wiridin Newmai stated that “In this age of artificial intelligence, your skills will speak louder than your marks. Stay grounded in reality and build your life with consistency”. He encouraged them to pursue careers relevant to the needs of the state and to utilize modern technology wisely, as “information is now at your fingertips.”
The program was compered by Incale Iswarang and invocated by associate pastor, Liangmai Baptist Church, Dimapur, Munthin Newmai,. The welcome note was delivered by president of ZSUD, Asap Zeliang, followed by a special melody presented by Kenning Chuilo. Short speeches were delivered by topper Lungyihangle Nring, along with representatives from the Zeliang People Organisation Dimapur, Zeliang Women Organisation Dimapur, and Zeliang Youth Organisation Dimapur. The vote of thanks was delivered by education and statistics secretary, ZSUD, Kaichunlungbo Newmai, The program concluded with a blessings hour and benediction pronounced by president of the Fellowship of Naga Baptist Association Rev. Dr. Visor H Zeliang.
