Zeliangrong Students’ Union Nagaland (ZSUN) has strongly condemned the April 18 attack on innocent Naga civilians at TM-Kason village along NH-202, which claimed the lives of Chinaoshang Shokwungnao of Tashar village and Yaruingam Vashum of Kharasom village, Ukhrul district.
In a press release, ZSUN president Edward Nring and assistant general secretary Witenthuibo Chawang described the deliberate targeting of unarmed civilians as a violation of humanity and a grave infringement on the fundamental right to live in peace and security within their homeland.
The Union stated that such acts endanger lives, undermine societal harmony, and obstruct the collective pursuit of lasting peace.
Extending condolences to the bereaved families, ZSUN expressed solidarity with them in their grief and upheld their demand for justice.
It noted that the loss was not borne by the families alone but reverberates across the Naga community.
The Union called upon authorities to act with urgency in bringing the perpetrators to justice through a prompt, thorough, and impartial investigation. Reiterating its rejection of such brutality, ZSUN affirmed its commitment to safeguarding the rights, dignity, and security of the Naga homeland.
