Zeme Students’ Union Nagaland (ZSUN) led by its president Aakam Pame and eight other office bearers conducted an inspection tour to Kebai area under Peren district, Nagaland from February 24 and 25.
ZSUN inspected schools and had consultation meeting with the village head, village education committee and teachers in-charge of respective villages.
During the inspection, union had found that in spite of repeated direction and warning, government teachers were found keeping proxy teachers (substitute) and found that illegal registers were maintained in the past. They also found out that in Nsenlo Government Primary School and Beisumpuilo GPS, there were only two teachers who were managing the teaching of class A to 4 with students with an enrolment of more than 54.
Union also observed shortage of teachers especially Hind teacher and found out that road construction under PMGYS from Khelma to Nkio B’ village and New Ngaulong to Bamsiakelo was blocked.
In this regard, union had warned that stern action would be initiated in collaboration with higher authority and concern department for those defaulters who failed to comply to union directives and further warned not to keep proxy teachers in its jurisdiction.
ZSUN also urged teachers posted in Nsong/Kebai areas to put extra effort in giving quality and quantity education with dedication and sincerity so that the most remote and neglected areas could come up with the rest of the advanced areas. Meanwhile, union conducted a meeting with village councils, women, youth, and student leaders and discussed, resolved to stand firm in making the village a progressive level and defend from corruption.
Union further requested the concern departments, contractors, stakeholders to take up the issues and find a viable solution in order to bring justice to the poor and under developed areas.
Union expressed its gratitude to Dr. Tumda Newme for his vehicle during the tour of nine villages and all the village leaders and extending their support in making the programme a success.
