Zeliangrong Students’ Union (ZSUN) in its executive meeting held on February 22, unanimously resolved to show zero tolerance towards irresponsible teachers who were not regular in performing their duties, and teachers still practicing proxy system despite warning from its office within Peren district.
A press release from ZSUN stated that, the office while appreciating verification drive carried out by directorate of School Education in the month of October and November 2019 to check proxy teachers, was however disappointed by the report, wherein, it was found out only one teacher practicing proxy in the entire Peren district.
Union therefore, questions the credibility of the report and on what basis the drive was conducted. ZSUN also urged federating units to extend fullest cooperation in curbing the illegal practice of keeping proxy by reporting the matter to its office.
Union will be conducting surprise visit to check irregular teachers and teachers keeping proxies within the district.
The collected reports will be submitted to the directorate of School Education, so that actions could be initiated as per laid down rules and regulation of the department and state government.
