Months after a tripartite agreement on augmentation of water supply to Kohima was signed, the Zelu Council (Manipur and Nagaland) has asserted that the project cannot be allowed.
It may be recalled that an agreement was signed among Poilwa and Khonoma villages and the State government at State Banquet Hall in Kohima on July 31, 2018. In an open letter to the chief minister of Nagaland, Zelu council (M&N) chairman, Rangom Hau, claimed that the agreement was signed without the knowledge and concern of the traditional landowner – Ze-Mnui (Yangkhullen)
Zelu council has therefore requested the chief minister to “refrain from campaigning the said augmentation of water supply project since the traditional land owner was not consulted and concern also not consented.”
