KOHIMA, AUG 25 (NPN): Sechü Zubza FC advanced to the final of the Atuo Mezhür Sekhose Super League (AMSSL) 2026 after defeating Tsütuonuomia Youth Organisation (TYO) 3-1 in the first semifinal at IG Stadium, Kohima on Tuesday.
The league champions, Sechü Zubza FC, found themselves trailing early after TYO’s Mhasilhoukho Chietsü put his side ahead in the 13th minute.
Sechü Zubza FC, however, responded strongly after the break, with Aneizo M Sekhose restoring parity in the 52nd minute. Pulovi Kiho then put Sechü Zubza FC ahead in the 65th minute before Vikhozoto Zhünyü sealed the 3-1 victory with a third goal in the 78th minute.
The win saw Sechü Zubza FC book their place in the AMSSL Super Cup final, while TYO’s campaign came to an end in the semifinal stage.
The match also saw three players receive yellow cards. TYO’s Thejangulie was booked in the 60th minute, while Sechü Zubza FC’s Kekhrieletuo and Katoho were cautioned in the 88th and 90+4th minutes, respectively.
Deputy Commissioner and chairman of the District Sports Council, Kohima, B Henok Buchem, attended the match as the special guest.
The second semifinal will see Mez & Co take on Vanguard Academy on August 27 at IG Stadium, Kohima. The match is scheduled to kick off at 6 p.m.
