Zükihe village attains 50 years

Zükihe Village and Zükihe Village Baptist Church (ZVBC) celebrated golden jubilee on the theme “Xülhe no niboqha” (history our foundation) on January 12, 2021 with religious fervour.

In commemoration of the 50 years of Church establishment, Western Sumi Baptist Akukuhou Kuqhakulu (WSBAK) executive secretary Rev. Dr. Phughoto Aye unveiled the monolith while Western Sumi Hoho (WSH) president Dr. Kakheto Zhimomi unveiled the monolith erected to mark golden jubilee of village establishment.

Speaking at the programme, Dr. Zhimomi underscored the need for healing and forgiveness while referring to a Bible verse. He expressed hope that the members of the village would forgive one another, reconcile and move forward in unity.

Delivering sermon, Rev. Dr. Phughoto Aye stressed on the jubilee theme and said the pioneers have laid strong foundation, but it was up to the present generation to take their legacy towards further progress by respecting and acknowledging one another. He also urged the congregation to thank God for His blessings all these years.

Earlier, Nitokhu Katty, Zükihe village head GB delivered welcome address. Other highlights of the programme included introduction and presentation by jubilee planning board chairman Shiwoto Katty, special number by jubilee choir, offertory prayer by Bokaho Assumi chairman KACLF and benediction by Rev.Kiqhevi Swu, ex-pastor Zükihe Village Baptist Church. The programme was chaired by Kaiho Zhimo, pastor ZVBC and Ayeto Chophy, jubilee secretary recorded the proceedings of the jubilee service.

After the programme, a jubilee feast was organised to mark the celebrations.

Meanwhile, jubilee souvenir was released by Hoshito Yeptho, head GB of Keltomi model village on January 11, 2021.
