Zunheboto and Phek hold DPDB meetings

District Planning and Development Board (DPDB) of Zunheboto and Phek districts were held on May 10 at respective district headquarters.
Zunheboto DPDB mulls blanket ban on fishing
Zunheboto DPDB meeting discussed blanket ban on hunting and fishing within the district and decided to impose “fishing of all kinds” for two months i.e., June and July, while decision to ban hunting was deferred to next meeting.
According to a DIPR report, taking into account the harmful effects of unregulated fishing and hunting, the agenda of blanket ban was deliberated during the monthly DPDB meeting held at the Conference Hall of Deputy Commissioner (DC) Zunheboto office.
In this regard, Sub Divisional Officer (SDO), Athrong supplemented that many village councils have appealed to impose “complete ban” on hunting and fishing as public were unaware of Wild Life (Protection) Act.
Chairperson of the meeting, DC and vice chairman DPDB Zunheboto, Rahul Bhanudas Mali reminded the departments to submit all the central government schemes being implemented by various departments at the earliest and before the Governor’s visit.
He also informed that Diksha meeting with the MP would be convened soon and requested members to be in station.
Priyanka, from Skill development ministry, read out a report on various awareness programs to educate the public about various loans and schemes that could be availed by the public especially cultivators.
She also presented a report on various possible ways on where employment and revenues could be generated.
To this, the DC informed that proposals have been sent to the ministry and departments concerned. He also and suggested setting up of call centres at Zunheboto for educated unemployed youths.
The Deputy Commissioner also informed that SBI has given an assurance to set up SBI banks at Pughoboto and Atoizu.
DPDB Phek recommends 7 villages for inclusion under DUDA
DPDB Phek held its monthly meeting at DPDB Hall Phek, wherein the members discussed inclusion of the seven villages in Tizu Area under Department of Under Developed Areas (DUDA) schemes.
According to a DIPR report, the agenda was proposed by advisor, Z. Nyusietho Nyuthe and deliberated and recommended to the government by the board for further approval.
The meeting was attended by minister, power and parliamentary affairs, and chairman DPDB Phek, K.G Kenye, advisor for CAWT & Taxes Kudeche Khamo, advisor for new & renewal energy, Nagaland State Disaster Management Authority, and MLA Dr. Niesatuo Mero.
The legislators interacted with department officers of PHED, Urban Development, and Forest and encouraged the concerned officers to continue their sincere services for public benefit in the district.
Regarding the upgradation of Chizami SDO (c) Hq. to ADC Hq. and the upgradation of EAC Hq. to SDO(C) Hq., the board agreed to recommend both proposed agendas for approval to the government.
