Zunheboto hosts first MUSA-PHE meeting

The first annual general meeting of the MUSA-PHE Cluster Level Federation, organized by the Nagaland State Rural Livelihoods Mission (NSRLM), was held at the Multi-Purpose Hall, Old Town, Zunheboto on June 28.
The event was graced by advisor of Food & Civil Supplies and Legal Metrology, K.T. Sukhalu as the chief guest.
Addressing the gathering, Sukhalu emphasized the need for economic self-reliance, urging people to shift focus towards becoming producers for financial stability.
He expressed joy over the participation of over 2,800 active SHG members from the district, highlighting their role in achieving India’s vision of creating three crore “Lakhpati Didis”.
Quoting former U.S. First Lady Michelle Obama, he said, “There is no limit to what we as women can accomplish,” and applauded the success of Self-Help Groups (SHGs) across Nagaland.
He commended the NSRLM Zunheboto team for forming and strengthening SHGs covering over 1,300 households under the MUSA-PHE Federation in Zunheboto Block, aimed at poverty reduction and socio-economic upliftment.
Sukhalu encouraged the Federation to become a platform for women’s voices and self-reliance, urging them to include left-out households into the SHG movement.
He stressed the importance of collaborations with government, public, and private sectors to ensure effective last-mile service delivery.
In his speech, Deputy Commissioner, Zunheboto, Dharam Raj, encouraged SHGs to improve product packaging and marketing, leverage online platforms, and explore markets beyond the district.
He shared his vision for the Federation to become a source of employment, aligning with the national goal of “Viksit Bharat by 2047”.
Earlier, the welcome speech was delivered by PD-DRDA, Zunheboto, Phoishe Zhimomi, with an invocation by Inakali Zhimo.
A general outlook on NSRLM was presented by BMMU staff, Zunheboto.
A special song was presented by Thuwuni VLo, Lochomi, and benediction by Ashevi Yeptho.
