Zunpha Multipurpose Cooperative Society Ltd., Tseminyu, was awarded the Best Performing Primary Agricultural Credit Society (PACS) at NABARD Foundation Day held at NABARD Regional Office, Dimapur, on July 11.
The event commemorated NABARD Foundation Day in line with the International Year of Cooperatives 2025. Speaking at the programme, Deputy Registrar of Cooperative Society, Niuland, Bisinle Kemp highlighted the role of cooperatives in improving rural economies and urged all stakeholders to support cooperative bodies working at grassroots levels.
Zunpha MPCS Ltd. and Nagaland State Cooperative Bank (NSCtB) were honoured for their contributions to the state’s cooperative movement. The NABARD Annual Report 2024–25 was also presented and released during the occasion, reflecting the bank’s activities in rural infrastructure and cooperative development.
In his special address, Cooperation Department commissioner and secretary, Orenthung Lotha, stressed on building accountable institutions and aligning policies to strengthen cooperative-led development.
A cooperative quiz competition was also held to engage participants and raise awareness.
Earlier, the programme began with a welcome address by NABARD Deputy General Manager, O.P. Mounglang, followed by the reception of the chief guest and an inaugural address delivered by NABARD Nagaland Regional Office General Manager and Officer-in-Charge, Paulianap Bulte.
Meanwhile, Zunpha MPCS Ltd. thanked its members and partners, reaffirming its commitment towards rural empowerment and sustainable livelihood.
