Zapami Women Welfare Society (ZWWSP), Pfutsero Town celebrated its 25th anniversary on February 29 at GMS Pfutsero town under the theme “stepping towards progress”.
Speaking as chief guest, director SAMETI & principal IETC (Agri), Nguzonyi Wetsah said that jubilee was a time for introspection and retrospection for the society’s achievements. He encouraged the women to be united and move forward with a new broad vision which would help in the progress of general society. Wetsah also said that government was providing plenty of facilities for upliftment and empowerment of women community such as 30% VDB fund, 33% reservation for recruitment of the central forces CRPF, army, women police as well as financial support from women resource development department, Agri & allied departments, bank loan to SHGs and individual. To mark the occasion a souvenir was released by director development CBCC (Rtd.), Rev. Dr. Dingu Kenye. The programme was chaired by Neikolou Khutso, while invocation prayer was pronounced by pastor, Yiekhrou Kenye and vote of thanks by Ihiteweu Wetsah.
The highlights of the celebration were presentations by Zapami Village Women Society, Pfutsero women group and fathers’ group along with the traditional games such as “Tholi & Kecutso Kete” which was a special attraction.
