DIMAPUR, JUN 13 (NPN): Zeliangrong Youth Front Nagaland (ZYFN) has issued a cautionary notice advising Kuki communities residing in or visiting Peren district to refrain from venturing into Zeliangrong areas in view of the prevailing volatile situation in Manipur and heightened anger among Zeliangrong people across Assam, Manipur and Nagaland.
In a statement, ZYFN said the advisory was being issued in the interest of the safety of Kuki community. It stated that the entire Zeliangrong community would not be held responsible for any untoward incident or eventuality if individuals ignored the advisory and moved around in Zeliangrong areas during the present period of tension.
The youth body said the message should serve as a strong and unequivocal signal that the Zeliangrong people were not taking the current situation lightly.
At the same time, ZYFN appealed to all Zeliangrong people to exercise restraint, refrain from taking the law into their own hands, and avoid creating any situation that could lead to conflict or breach of peace.
