1 held for online death threat on NMA advisor

DIMAPUR, SEP 25 (NPN)

Dimapur police have arrested a man for issuing an online a death threat to Naga Mothers’ Association (NMA) advisor Prof. Rosemary Dzuvichu.
In a press note, Commissioner of Police Dimapur, Aotula T. Imchen, said the action followed a written complaint lodged by Prof. Dzuvichu on September 24 regarding death threats and derogatory remarks posted in the Facebook group “Unified Nagaland for Christ.” The accused, identified as 38-year-old Walonir Longkumer, was apprehended the same day.
After the complaint was lodged at Cyber Crime police station, a criminal case was registered at Diphupar Police Station and further investigation was underway.
CP reiterated that threats to individuals, whether physical or digital, would be dealt with strictly under law. Police warned that any attempts to intimidate or endanger citizens will not be tolerated and assured the public of decisive action against such nefarious activities.
