After a delay of over a decade, state chief minister Dr. Neiphiu Rio formally commissioned the long-awaited Rs 26.26 crore water supply project at Chiephobozou RD Block and also inaugurated tourism-related infrastructure Tuesday at Tuophema tourist village.

Naga People’s Front (NPF) and the Phokhungri Area Public Organisation (PAPO) organized a public rally on April 29, at the India-Myanmar Trade Centre in Avakhung, located in the Meluri district to protest against the ongoing border fencing and the scrapping of the Free Movement Regime (FMR) by the government of India.

The protest led by the Combined Technical Association of Nagaland (CTAN) and the Nagaland NET Qualified Forum (NNQF) entered its fifth day on Tuesday, as demonstrators continued their peaceful sit-in outside the Directorate of Higher Education in Kohima.

In a solemn show of solidarity, the Nagaland State BJP held a candlelight tribute at its State Headquarters in Kohima on Tuesday evening to honour the victims of the April 22 terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir. The event was attended by senior party leaders, legislators, and citizens.
