Dimapur police Monday in separate incidents arrested six persons while collecting and demanding money from business establishments and vehicles in and around Dimapur. Addl. deputy commissioner of police and PRO said, one person indentified was Angukato Aye son of Hokheyi Aye was arrested for collecting illegal tax in the name of Dimapur District Auto Drivers Union (DDADU). 100 tax coupons seized from his possession, PRO said. Based on specific complaints, Dimapur police under Zone-I apprehended three persons from Burma camp area while demanding money from the business establishments. The arrested were identified as ‘capt’ YeshikaAwomi son of Toikhu Awomi of GPRN/NSCN; ‘lieut’ IhotoZhimo s/o XuyitoZhimo of GPRN/NSCN; John Zhimo son of HevitoZhimo. In both the incidents, cases have been registered at East Police Station for further investigation, PRO said. Two persons were apprehended from New Chumukedima area, while they were colleting illegal tax in the name of Dimapur district truck drivers welfare trade union, PRO said. The arrested were identified as ChuttuChetri and Dan Bahadur. Tax coupons and money from their possession, PRO said. In this connection, a case has been registered at Diphupar police station and investigation is on.
