KVK Phek and NU organize plantation camp, training

Krishi Vigan Kendra (KVK), NRC Mithun, Porba, Pfutsero, Phek organized tree fodder plantation camp on June 24 at Thipuzumi village under National Initiative on Climate Resilient Agriculture (NICRA).  Altogether 1500 saplings of wild cherry (Prunus spp.), wild apple (Malus sylvestris) and Ficus (Ficus hookeri) were planted in the Rihuba area of Thipuzumi village.  The member of Village Climate Risk Management Committee (VCRMC) of the project assisted in motivating and mobilizing the farmers and youth of the village to participate in the camp. 25 youth participated in plantation of the saplings in the village and in the designated livestock range.  The camp was led by SMS (animal science), KVK Phek, Dr Debojyoti Borkotoky, senior research fellow, Potsulu Theluo and project scientist, Rovilhounuo. The camp concluded with words of gratitude from head teacher, Savehu Khamu for the noble service to enrich the livestock health and wildlife habitat.
