Two-day district level integrated microplanning workshop on routine immunization (RI) and RMNCH+A for medical officers and nurses concluded March 30 at DC conference hall, Wokha.
During the programme, deputy commissioner, Wokha, Robin A. Lotha applauded the department of Health & Family Welfare for conducting the training, which he said would serve as a turning point towards improving immunization status in the district. He also assured support in bringing health benefit to the people.
Resource persons for the training were immunization specialist for North East States, UNICEF Guwahati, Dr. Mangesh Gadhari; UNICEF consultant New Delhi, G.N Sharma; UNICEF consultant Nagaland, Pairson; UNICEF consultant Nagaland, Kingson K.Shimray accompanied by programme assistant finance Kohima, Kewetso Kenye.
An overview of immunization+RMNCHA services in Nagaland was presented by UNICEF consultants Nagaland followed by Dr. Mangesh highlighting on the objectives of the workshop focusing on the steps of RI and RMNCH+A, and AVD microplanning.
He urged the participants to have a clear demarcation of areas of their health centre and develop communication plans, prepare maps, record total population, review and recalculate vaccine logistics requirement, compile plans for health centres and follow up on the progress regularly.
The training included mock micro plan exercises, group presentation followed by interaction and discussion.
The training was attended by CMO Dr. Enrithung, deputy CMO Dr. Tumchobeni, DPO (RCH/UIP) Dr. Zathung, DPM (NHM) Matsung and comp. asst UIP, Bharat.
