ICAR promotes organic nutrient and insect pest management

Towards promoting organic management of nutrients, pest and diseases, demonstration on “use of bio-pesticides for the plant disease and health management in vegetable crops” was conducted on January 23 at Moava village.
The demonstration was conducted by ICAR Research Complex for NEH Region, Nagaland Centre, Jharnapani, Medziphema, Nagaland under TSP.
Demonstration was organized by scientist (pathology), Dr. G. Rajesha, who briefed about the use of several biocontrol and biopesticides for the management of pest and diseases in vegetables followed by the methods of application in the field level.
SMS (soil science) James Kikon elaborated about the use of different biofertilizers available for the farmers and their use at field level. During the demonstration he stressed about the importance of soil health after distributing of soil health cards to the farmers.
The biopesticides viz Trichoderma, Neem oil and Neem cake and biofertilizers viz Azospirilum, Azotobacter, Phosphotica and Rhizobium, were distributed to all the farmers to promote the use of bio-fertilizers and bio-pestiicdesa in their field. 52 farmers participated in the training program.
