NSCN(I-M) cadre killed in gun fight with Assam Rifles

One NSCN (I-M) cadre was reportedly killed in a gun fight with Assam Rifles in Longding district of Arunachal Pradesh, a PTI report quoting defence sources said Saturday.
The ceasefire between the government of India and NSCN (I-M) currently covers only Nagaland. Recently, the Arunachal Naga Students Federation had appealed to the government of India to extend ceasefire in Naga inhabited districts of Arunachal.
According to the PTI report, the gun fight took place when NSCN(I-M) cadres fired upon the AR troops yesterday as they were approaching a hut where cadres were staying. AR personnel returned fire in which one cadre identified as “sergeant” Pangan Gangsa was killed.
