Special Operation Team (SOT) of Dimapur Police in two separate operations on May 26 arrested two persons for “illegal collection of money”.
A press release by additional deputy commissioner of Police/PRO said that the SOT arrested Lapu Konyak alias Albert Konyak (20) son of Lt. Yanpok Konyak, of Hiphan Village presently residing at Purana Bazar Dimapur for illegal collection of money from drivers of sand laden trucks at New Field Check gate. Rs 10,000 cash was recovered from his possession.
In a separate operation, SOT, on receipt of specific information, arrested one Khetoka Aye (26) son of Khuvihe Aye of Yehemi Village, presently residing at Middle Colony, Purana Bazar, Dimapur, for collecting “illegal tax” from drivers of trucks plying at Dellai Check gate area. Rs. 15,810 cash was seized from his possession. According to the PRO, both the cases have been registered at West Police Station Dimapur and investigations are on.
