Kohima Village Students’ Union (KVSU) organized a felicitation programme for successful candidates of the HSLC and HSSLC examinations, at Kohima village council hall on Saturday.
Director SCERT, Thejakhrielie Sekhose in his address as the chief exhortant, reminded the successful candidates that they were living in a competitive world where they had to strive hard to achieve. Sekhose said that Nagaland had around 1 lakh educated-unemployed, and government jobs were already saturated so he asked them to consider ventures beyond government jobs.
The director advised the student community to properly plan their careers and future and also explore their talents. Stressing on the advantage of technology, Sekhose asked the students to utilize the facilities of the internet to clarify any doubts.
KVSU advisor, Vizonyü Liezietsu, in his exhortation, urged the students to acquire knowledge and wisdom which is essential for higher studies. He advised them never to make pride part of their characters or involve in unfair means to get ahead.
Neingusanuo Kire, the top 8th HSLC candidate, in her address on behalf of the achievers, said that achieving one’s goal is not an easy task and one has to truly work hard to be rewarded. She said that there are times when you have to sacrifice your pleasure and fun for your studies.
Dr. Neilhouzhü Kire award was given to Vivotsonuo Sorhie (HSLC top 1) and Samuel Mezhür Sekhose award given to Virienuo Emilia Solo (HSSLC science top 1) by their respective family members on the occasion.
Altogether 268 students were felicitated, including 128 students of HSLC (male 54 and female 74) and 140 of HSSLC students (60 male and 80 female), four toppers (2 in HSLC and 2 in HSSLC) and five subject toppers.
The programme was chaired by Keneirhezo Rutsa, invocation prayer said by Kezhakietuo Belho, a welcome address delivered by Khrietuo Pienyü, a special song presented by Menuolenuo Linyü, while the vote of thanks was proposed by Vilhouneinuo Keretsü.
